with the exhibition, Joseph Lai will be sharing his experiences with his
family and friends on Chek Jawa, the wonders they discovered and thoughts

exhibitions and talks on Chek Jawa Date: 25-31 Oct Venue: Kinokuniya Bookstore Ngee Ann City, Reservation Counter Photo-exhibition entitled "Chek Jawa - Ours to Treasure" With the talk on 27 Oct (Sat) 3pm Date: 1-18 Nov Venue: Singapore Science Centre Life Science Gallery, Grd flr Photo-exhibition on biodiversity of Chek Jawa as part of the "Web of Life" exhibition With two talks: "Chek Jawa" on 18 Nov (Sun), 2.30pm "What is a natural beach?" on 16 Dec (Sun) 2.30pm Both talks at the Teaching Lab, 3rd floor Date: 3-17 Nov Venue: Woodlands Regional Library Auditorium Foyer Photo-exhibition entitled "Chek Jawa: A Pictorial Showcase" With the talk on 5 Nov (Mon), 7-8.30pm at the Auditorium Date: 12-25 Nov Venue: Marine Parade Community Library Lifestyle Zone Photo-exhibition entitled "Chek Jawa: A Pictorial Showcase" In addition to these public exhibitions and talks, Chek Jawa was also showcased on these ocassions Date: 24 Oct to 9 Nov Venue: Temasek Polytechnic Photo exhibition held as part of the polytechnic's Clean & Green Campaign 2001. Features the Chek Jawa's biodiversity and polytechnic's involvement with National Parks Board in salvaging the plants. There is also a 2-minute digitised video on Chek Jawa running on a PowerPoint slide show at the venue. Date: 22-23 Oct Venue: Raffles Girls' School (Secondary) Photo-exhibition of Chek Jawa with a video screening of the Channel News Asia commentary on Chek Jawa a video on the Nature Society (Singapore)'s seagrass transplant project. Organised by Tan Beng Chiak. Date: 15 Oct (Mon), 12noon-1.30pm Venue: National Institute of Education A talk on Chek Jawa was conducted for the academic staff of the Geography Department Date: 7 Oct (Sun), 10am-12pm Venue: Singapore Zoological Gardens with the kind support of the docents from Fragile Forest A photo-exhibition of the biodiversity on Chek Jawa. Date: 15-16 Sep, 10am-10pm Venue: Suntec City Asian Geographic Journal featured Chek Jawa in their exhibition as part of World Animal Day celebrations organised by the Cat Welfare Society. |
